Default lights with a mind of their own

My 2013 XK 5.0 is acting wierd.
I park it up, lock the doors and within 10 minutes the brake lights / tail lights switch themselves on for absolutely no reason.
Tried again and again, locking/unlocking taking for a drive and its just keeping on doing the same.

Seems not do do when I leave the car unlocked but obviously I cant do this unless it's locked away in the garage.

does anyone have any ideas?
thanks, Ian

Do a voltage check on the battery and see what you get. 12.6 V

+1 on the above but also check the ground points in and around the engine bay.

BRAND NEW BATTERIES are usually very low on voltage and should be charged at least overnight with a decent (10 Amp or greater) battery charger.

This is probably (90% certain) the cause.
