Default Lowered my XK for under $40

Well I bought H&R Springs and it's sat too low for me it just didn't look right. Then I had to add wheel spacers to make it not look so low but still didn't look right plus it throws all the alignment and scrub patterns off. I lowered the car 5/16 of an inch all the way around and it's it's perfect just enough to take that edge off the high wheel well gap but not look too low...I'm very happy with it I could probably go another quarter but I'm happy at 5/16. I know this looks Mickey Mouse but it works and doesn't ride any different than it did before so don't hammer on me for that lol...

I haven't been able to do that since I was in my 20's. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The only thing I could use from the ride effects kit are they actual clamps themselves. You have to get smaller u clamps at the hardware store due to the fact the hardware they give you will not fit between the Springs without hitting. It's quite a task putting them in but it does work I will post some pics of the car shortly and if you don't think 5/16 of an inch makes a difference you'd be surprised

They're hard on the springs and fail over time but work for a while.

I don't understand your garage. Where are your tools, and the extra refrigerator, and your lawnmower, and your wife's collection of 22 different wreaths?

Looking at your garage and your car, it is obvious you can afford to do it right. So why go with this unsafe hack? Consider rollover that going to happen as one side snaps while you are taking a fast corner. If you want lowered car, buy and install proper lowering springs.

I spent $600 installing springs did not like the way it looked H&R Springs Sat too low. The only other choice is the Spires which I still feel would look a little too low for my taste. If a clamps snaps and pops the spring up 3/8 of an inch I don't think the car is going to flip

Let's say your in a hard right turn. The left spring is compressed, so there's a gap between the spring and the U-bolt. You throw the car into a hard left turn. The spring unloads and smacks the U-bolt breaking it. This happens right as the spring is decompressing.

I'm not saying that SinF's scenario is definitely going to happen, but I don't think you should just dismiss it out of hand.

I'll help get those crappy H+Rs out of your way, I'll even pay shipping.

You need spacers not lowering. That will close the gap.

I did the H&R Springs with 15 mm spacers all around and I still thought it looked too low. Without spacers it looked hideous. I recall a picture of a car with spacers only without lowering and it looked kind of weird not sure if I can find that pic or somebody could
