Talking My New Jag

Picked up my 2011 XKR Coupe this afternoon. OMG! What a car. I love it. Now I need to sell by beautiful 1995 XJS convertible.

Gorgeous car!

I sold my ‘95 XJS convertible for my XKR and never looked back. The XJS is certainly a beautiful car but doesn’t drive all that well, at least as a sports car. And they give lots of trouble. Mine did anyway. Your XKR should be much more reliable and definitely a lot more fun! Enjoy!

Guess I should update my profile. Kind of stuck with the 95 Cat though. The XJS was a nice car and I liked it but nothing like this XKR.

Very nice looking thing

It has the standard wheels too. I didn't find one with those when I was looking and I have that niggling feeling that mine would drive better than with the heavy 20" Nevis wheels mine has. The big wheels look good though.

Ian Callum likes to fill the wheel arches.

And then he fills them with black wheels so they look empty again

I think proportionately, the twenty inch wheels on the x150 look much more proportionate to the car than the 20s on the x100. That said, the Detroit wheels are definitely a soft spot for me on the older cars.

The ride quality on the twenties in my x150 is better than the 18s on my x100. Part of it shockingly is a much newer chassis design lol. The x150 at inception was a lot newer overall vehicle than the x100 was at its launch. Both are a blast, just very different.

You are spot on, its the size of the car that needs to be reduced with proportionate wheels. Or one could say its one of the few large cars that needs large wheels.
Tesla, which looks very similar to our XK (not by coincidence) uses 21 and it looks even more proportionate.

bocatrip, I did sell the XJS a week ago. It's a nice car and the buyer got a great car for the money.
