Nav disk spins on... off.... on... even when car locked
So.... dead battery again.
When I was up and running, I noticed a noise while putting the cover back on: it's what I assume is the navigation disk in a dvd player. Spins up to speed, about three seconds later shuts off. this just repeats endlessly-- and it continued AFTER I'd shut off the car and even locked the doors for good measure.
I have to assume this is a malfunction.
I NEVER use this clunky nav system. Is there an easy way to disconnect it, or a fuse I can pull?
Is this a common problem? I can't imagine a scenario where this is normal operation for a turned off, locked-up car.
Thanks as always...

Was sitting waiting for a jump and I read that fuse 14 in the rear console is a 10amp fuse for "Navigation, power." I would have pulled it, but.... does anyone know what "power" refers to?"
I have seen a couple of X150's with faulty Navigation DVD drives, they don't shutdown or run so hot that you can burn your fingers when you touch them.
Basically it's an internal fault, and you should find a replacement module (2nd hand is fine, they don't need programming).
If you pull the fuse to the nav module, the whole audio system will go offline, if you want to unplug the navigation module permanently you will need a MOST fibre optic blanking loop to go in place of the DVD drive.

Is this it?

Yes it's the right one. You're going to unplug the loop from the back of the module, then plug this in to the open loop. Then the Nav system is bypassed and nothing more to do till you get to the shop.
