Default Navigation DVD update

I'm looking for a DVD update for the Navigation on my 2013 XK SE. I've read here that "they are readily available on eBay," but I find nothing specifically for the 2012-2014 XK. I read somewhere that the latest update was in 2018. Anybody know the part Jaguar number?

Use a Volvo disk, it's the only update available.

Here's a thread:

related, I use the latest version of the Jaguar navigation cds. Can you tell me if there are any other notable differences by using the volvo cds, beyond the updated maps?
Also, which particular volvo do you choose at navigation.com for a set of cds that will work in the ‘07? Can’t seem to locate that answer.
Thanks guys!

You want Volvo disk 31489539. Google internet parts vendors for the lowest delivered price.

I have it in my 2009 XKR and it works. See my Post #19:

I've added an alternative update disc source for UK and the rest of EUROPE only in that thread.

Guy,

I noted that you're in Ontario. The Volvo disk I referred to above covers the USA. I suspect that it also includes Canada, but I'm not certain.

Stuart

P.S. Found it! That disk includes the USA and Canada.

so after reviewing the many threads and posts, I will stick with the latest update that is Jag specific. I am enamored with the English woman’s voice (and proper pronunciation of words, ROTF)

If you really want up-to-date information the way to go is to utilize your I-phone or Android phone and Android Auto for Android phones or car play (I think) for IPhones. Sure there is no refined English lady giving you directions; but now you will have everything currently available including traffic, speeds and travel times.

I prefer Waze for real-time traffic speeds and incidents, including city streets and highways.

Yes, that's a good way to get someplace the first time. But just in case I want to go back sometime I'd save the location as a Memory point in the inbuilt navigator. I show how to do it in the YouTube series of videos I'm creating. To take a peek,Click here. The series isn't complete so if there's something you want to do but can't figure out how, let me know and I'll work on it.

BTW, I've owned many different Garmins and cell phones and have used them for driving with mixed results. I remember once trying to get to the tide pools in Corona Del Mar and had to pull over to find it on the 3 year old Galaxy. Finally handed it to my 10-year-old grandson. He fiddled with it about 3 minutes and handed it back saying "you need a new phone!" But for me, I really would prefer to use the inbuilt device. I hate all the cords and sticking the thing on the wind screen only to have to remove it to put my sun protector in place.

To each his own.

Ed - At the next JOCLA event we attend I will show you the setup I have in my XKR if I bring it rather than the XJS. I find it easy and simple to use. Ralph

Thanks, Ralph. Won't be for quite a while though because we have to take every precaution against Covid19.

Regarding attachment of cell phones to the dash, I had a bad experience with that on the '76 XJ-S. I used one of these clips that attached to a vane in the AC outlet and it cracked.

For accessory mounting, I've used BRODIT CLIPS in a number of Jaguars. The XK version fixes to the perimeter of the the centre vents instead of the vanes like a lot of cheap versions.

Never had any damage using these.

Thanks, Graham. It does look like it couldn't hurt anything. However, I've already got a navigator that doesn't have to be clipped onto anything, needs no cord plugged into anything, and has a bigger screen. Most of the time it gets me where I need to go😁

I wish I had a navigator like yours! Mine's an older model that just tells me where to go!

*sigh*
Me too. Most of the time I leave mine home though, plus she has her own car.
