New XK Owner Saying Hi!
The iPod adapter became standard equipment with the 2009 model (North America 4.2L) to add steering wheel and infotainment screen controls for iPod music. Shortly thereafter, a dealer-installed accessory Audio Connectivity Module became available for 2007 and 2008 models. The first version of the OEM Jaguar cable was playback only, and did not simultaneously charge and play. That was remedied with the second version cable. Other aftermarket cables might not work. I use a Scosche adapter with my first generation cable that enables it to simultaneously charge and play since it was much less expensive than the Jaguar second generation cable. Google Tune2Air or WMA100. Assuming you have the 30 pin iPod connector in your car, you can plug one of those devices in to it and stream bluetooth from your phone.
I use Spotify in my '07 XK and it automatically starts playing from my iPhone as soon as I start my car.
