OBDii/Gauges

Sean,
Yes, your right! Found a picture on my Alldata account; so I would need the V8 adapter block (JagWrangler.com) to add a pressure tap ( mech or electronic).
Another project.......................not too hard.
UltraGauge has not arrived yet ................
Why does Jaguar do things like no gauges on XK's (my wife's XK8 has them!)
Continuous improvement unknown at Jaguar!!
Cheers, Adrian

Also, per several manufacturers, lights on modern vehicles function under tighter controls so theoretically, they're a more effective warning system, whereas a gauge has no alarm.
I personally can live without the oil pressure gauge. In 45+ years of driving, losing oil pressure has never been an issue so I will accept the idiot light on that one.
I would however like to view coolant temp and battery voltage. Those two are still on my wish list.

Thanks chXFS. I went to the other post There's some pics of the single pod, no double pod as you have above and no mention in those posts of the cost of the dual pods. The gauges are pricey, but there are several options there. I prefer the glowshift as the color scheme is more in line with Jaguar instruments (green light on Black) in the case of my car.
What does your friend charge for the vent mount dual pods?

My gauges are OBD2. No issues running the cables. Remember, you would have to send him your vent and he will mold the pod to it. So all you do is run the cables down the hole were the vent was and plug the vent back in with pod attached and your done. Now all pods come back black. So to give you an idea my dash is Oyster, so I ordered Oyster leather dye and took to Lowes and had them make into a paint. Then I used a aresol kit to spray the pod the color of my dash. It came out OEM. Here are a few pics so you get the idea.

Thanks for your quick response chXFS. I have my car up on my storage lift with the bumper off as I'm waiting for an updated front grille. Over the next few days when I have some time I will set it down and poke around the interior of the car. I would still like the gauges on my A pillar but need to determine how the cable routing will work for the pillar. I went to the XF site and noticed that there is an email add for the fella who does the pods. I think I will send him a note to see if he may be interested in moulding the pods into my spare A Pillar. Good to know if I may have a choice between vent and pillar. Thanks for the pics.
