Default Painted badges?

I'm really not a fan of chrome so I've been thinking about getting the chrome rear-end badges painted either black or my body color (FRB). I came across this XKR-S as an example... I'm curious what you all think and what it would cost? I would also consider painting the "leaper". Seems like it might be a hard to get a paint shop to take on such as small job. I know the pictured XKR-S had other paint work done as it had previous accident damage.

Thanks,

Hamish.

If you go black you could easily do it with a can of plasti dip. I had a friend do his emblems and it came out perfect.

Good luck, post pics when you are done!

While it comes down to personal preference, the only part on the rear end I would paint body color is the trunk plinth (where it says Jaguar). Painting the emblems the same color makes it look like someone over sprayed everything the same color without removing the emblems first. Black would really stand out in a very good way, especially with black rims and tie the rear diffuser & from air dam nicely. I don't like chrome either and that is what I would do if it were mine. I'd also eliminate the rear leaper all together, it's too classic and conflicts with the growler badges, which are much more sporty anyhow.

My 2 cents...

Black would look better. Painting them body color looks like one of those crappy taxicabs where the whole car wasn't taped up and was resprayed in yellow--badges and all!

Eric @ bumperplugs will paint them. Had everything for my P cars painted there, including custom made scripts for my P cars. You just have to get a new set of emblems and send it to him.

I had my leaper painted gloss black. The bodyshop I always use charged around $25. If you don't mind flat black then definitely do what Matt said...plasti dip. I prefer gloss black and so had it painted.

I agree. I much prefer the growler for that reason. I was surprised to see they used the leaper instead of the growler on the F-Type steering wheel.

Rear Leaper badge is very hard to pull off...even though it is applied with adhesive. Easy to damage when removing.

If you need an extra, I have them available......OEM size....quality.

Easy to have painted or plastidip first .....then apply.

Immediate shipping.

$38.00 + $2.00 to ship anywhere in USA.

Growler would look a lot better. At least have it as an option and let the buyer decide.
