Default Please post pics of dash pulling

I've heard of the leather on the dash pulling away from the edges but have never seen a picture of it happening.
As far as I can see my dash is in great condition but I'm not entirely certain what it is I'm looking for.
Pics would be appreciated.
BTW I have a 2008 XK Coupe with Carmel interior approx 7000 miles

I'd really like to see these pics as well.. I use Leatherique on dash weekly(yes I know its overkill) as I live in Miami and the sun in intense all year.. I even got sunburned on my run Saturday.

Sun isn't a regular problem for me in the UK but I'll be taking my XK down to southern Spain in June where temperatures will be in the 90's deg F.

My previous XK8 was OK last year but I'd like to see what damage strong sun can do to the XK dash.

I would suggest that everyone BUY a window sunshade for your XK/XKR.

Here's one that is an exact fit for such a low cost.

2009 2010 2011 Jaguar XF Windshield Sunshade Custom in Stock | eBay

It's a great way to protect the leather dash from drying out and possibly shrinking.

I do not have a picture, but the first sign will usually be a bit of leather becoming unglued (puffiness) somewhere along the edge where the dashboard leather contacts the black strip just in front of the windshield.

So can it be said that the issue is so rare that there are likely not ant pics floating around?

No it is not rare on the early cars. I have it a bit on mine, but it would not be very clear in a picture unless I lift up the leather to accentuate it and that will only make it worse.

Maybe the whole dash problem was a dastardly creation of one of those sun screen manufacturers.

I'm surprised not one person has posted a photo.

I'll try to take one of my pulling dash at some point. It's too cold out!

Me too
Surely someone thought to take a picture of this "common" problem with earlier models

Default The retreat continues!

Gentlemen-

My apologies for not seeing this request sooner! I posted this reply about a year ago, and I'm pleased to report that--much like my hairline--my XKR's dash leather retreat continues!

Enjoy: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...g-51324/page2/
