Default Power seat issue

The rear part of seat that tilts your back forward and reverse doesn't work. Would a switch be the most likely candidate? Possible loose connection under the seat as anybody experienced this thanks

Try resetting the car by disconnecting the battery or possibly you need the Jag main dealer to run the seat calibration routine in SDD.

What jahummer said, a recalibration of the seat is probably what you need. It's a quick ten minute job is SDD, so don't let anyone charge you for more than the minimum labor charge.

Can an expensive Snap-on scanner reset it? Or does it have to be STD

No Snap-On tool is even remotely close to doing what SDD can do. So, No.

Any seat motion at all? Try looking at fuse(s) F18, F30 and / or F32 in Central Junction Box.

If it is the seat back it is 99% likely due to needing to be calibrated. Unfortunately this is a very common problem and comes up on this forum frequently. Only SDD can fix this.

Try disconnecting battery, doing a hard reset*, reconnecting and then holding the button of the back tilt for 10 seconds, that's what my Indy did and it worked a treat.

They said it was apparently caused by an FB (NOT FaceBook) passenger placing undue strain on the mechanism causing it to shut down, and no they didn't charge me

* If you don't know what a hard reset is after close to 600 posts there's no hope for you

No probs if you don't want to do a HR and are happy to pay for SDD work instead as the first attempt

My battery was actually changed so had the hard reset and was disconned for over 20 mins and a new type 019 fitted (also done free by my Indy).
