Default Power steering judder

My XKR has recently started have a intermittent judder when turning the steering wheel when stopped. The dealer had it recently and couldn't get it to do it.
Has any body had a similar problem?

i've had it since I got my car and have posted about it in the past. I hate the feeling in my hands and don't understand why no one seems to be able to explain it. Everyone seems to think you just have to live with it but I don't like it. (And by the way my "lowly" 2002 XKR has never had this sensation in 160,000 miles of driving).

I'm pretty sure the tires are just skidding/slipping.

I've heard of a somewhat similar problem that was traced back to a slipping serpentine belt . This was on a truck V* where at idle standing still and turning the wheel the belt slips on the power steering pump which causes a stutter feedback to the steering wheel. This problem was solved with a new belt and a new belt tension-er assembly . I don't know if this is the same issue and I have not had this happen on my 2012.

Khan,
Respectfully, you are incorrect. There was a bulletin regarding this several years ago which, I believe, included changing a power steering hose if I'm not mistaken, but it's quite annoying and definitely not the tires rolling over a surface.

I did change the hoses and have 'upgraded' the hydraulic fluid. Steering is much better now.

Of course you can avoid it by rolling while turning ... even a few inches.

Turning the tires while stationary is not really good for them. I won't
turn the steering wheel while stationary unless I'm on slip plates
doing an alignment.

All I know is that I've had 2 Jags that did this in hot weather.

I just replaced both belts and tensioners so I'll see if I still have the problem this summer.

Thanks guys I'll ask the dealer to check for bulletins. I checked the ones I have but I don't have any after 2010.
Agreed I don't think its the tires skipping.
