Production numbers of 07/08 XKR?
Fella's,
I have been looking at 2007/2008 XK's and XKR's. A particular Jaguar dealership states "Only 200 production units" were imported to the US for Model year 2007. Is this information correct? Anybody know about the numbers for 2008? As near as I can tell, a used XKR runs approx $10,000 more than a standard XK of the same year and near the same mileage. If these production numbers are in fact correct, it may make the car worth the extra $$ because of the exclusivity let alone the performance value. This makes for a difficult decision as a person can pick up a low mile "09" XK for about the same money if not a bit less. You just don't get the "Fun Factor" the XKR would provide.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Jeff

xk vs. r
Jeff,
I don't have any idea about production numbers.........
as to the xk vs. the xkr............ I had an '06 xk8 .... wanted an R .... but I'm a 'coupe guy' and couldn't find one. It was a beautiful car; but I was sorry that I didn't wait. I have an '08 xkr and they are two different cars.
My suggestion would be to drive both; then you can determine how much the 'fun factor' is worth to you....................
good luck

Thanks Mike, Thanks D,
There is an 07 XK in Denver I may test drive. Prior to buying my 08 XJ8L I did drive a XJR and was impressed with the "throttle to fun ratio". Even with only 300hp in my XJ, it's fun to see the young "Nopi Tuners" reaction when the big Jag takes him off the light
