Smile Putting default 2007 XK wheels on a 2010 XKR - any problem?

Hello fellow Jaguar enthusiasts,

Quick question please. I have a beautiful 2010 XKR with old damaged rims (potholes etc) that I need to replace.
I found a seller who has 2007 XK wheels (same size, and they even look the same from the outside).
Can I buy them and fit them on my XKR with no worries? Or do 2007 and 2010 wheels have different alignment values?
I'm not too experienced with wheels and alignment issues hence my question.
Thank you very much in advance for your response!

I've done experimenting and research on this matter, and this is very confusing to me:
1. I tried experimenting and actually fitting the 2007 wheels on my 2010 XKR, and they seem to fit just fine. I do not notice anything wrong in the fitting; anything I should be on the look out for?
2. But after researching the matter on this forum, I came across this post that says they do NOT fit: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...offsets-75062/
3. Yet in his post, he was buying aftermarket wheels and not default Jaguar factory wheels, AND getting wheel configurations from people who may have given him incorrect information?
4. I searched Google and found this website dedicated to buying wheel rims, that groups XK 2007-2011 into one wheel category: https://www.elementwheels.com/custom...guar-xk-wheels

I am more confused after doing my research than I was when I first asked my question. Perhaps someone on these forums has the experience to help decipher this?
I'm pretty sure this information would also benefit other members who need to replace their wheels.
Thank you very much.

In response to your questions:
1. The 5.0L cars have a different rear offset than the 4.2L cars due to the E-diff.
2. His statements are true. The 4.2L car wheels will fit the bolt pattern and clear the calipers, but depending on the tire width and brand you put on the rear, you may get rubbing going over bumps.
3. Whether he bought used OEM Senta wheels, or a Chinese knockoff of the Senta wheels, the size should have been the same and he had tire rubbing in the rear. Again, his choice of tire brand and width would determine the severity of the rubbing potential.
4. That site allows you to select wheel widths and offsets, so that’s why they can lump all those years together. They leave it up to you to select what you want to use, letting you be conservative or aggressive with your offsets, to fit your desired look on the car.

The front sit too far in however that can be rectified with spacers so no major issue there
,however the problem lies with the rear offset they will stick out 5mm too much resulting in contact with the fender should you bottom out / hit a pot hole.

There is another caveat also... MANY places sell new and used wheels that say "Fit XK/XKR but they are MADE for the XF/XFR, which has a different backspacing. XF wheels will be inwards way too much on an XK and look ridiculous (and probably rub).

The XF wheels have higher offset and so do sit inwards when fitted to an XK- the Nevis alloy being a famous example. They don't hit anything but don't fill the arches and look rubbish/wrong as a result. Worse still, if you are only replacing one wheel you will have an asymmetric rear end- this was how my car was sold to me!

@steve_k_xk Thank you as well for your easy to understand and to-the-point response.
I now understand the whole idea is that for the wheels to not stick out and hit the body of the car during a rough bump.

Do your rear arches actually have space for the wheels to go in? On my XKR it's barely concave...I think...
