I have a 2010 and I think it's different for '10 and newer, but with ours it's built into the lens assembly, so you have to get the whole round light (including the reverse light). Also, ours are LED's. But I don't know about 08.
Having said all that... there is also a small chip in the lamp/lens unit that can go bad. That may be it. But, again, you're replacing the whole thing, I think.

The rear fog is an LED unit in all the X150 cars - and it should not need replacement. You do know that there is only one reverse lamp and one fog lamp on the 2007 and 2008 cars?

I actually bought a European Fog for my '07 to make both sides symmetrical. Always hated that one side was backup and the other fog... Figured two fogs would be bright enough to use as back-up lights anyhow...

Never did install it before I got my used 2010, so essentially I fixed the problem for about $40,000... Sorta.... First thing pointed out to me is that the right fog on the 2010s commonly fail, and sure enough it was the first part I ordered...

Yeah, I just found out that half the LEDs on my Right Fog are inop. Doesn't really affect me as I never run 'em anyway.

Thanks for the reply guys. I was asking because i would replace the bulb with a yellow one if it was possible lol. It sucks to only have one reverse light. So the only way to do it is to buy a European XK fog from what i see

I think there is an older thread on the subject of changing from a one side backup light to a two side backup light. If so, you can find it by entering change from one side backup light to two sided backup lights, or something similar.

If you're looking for both sides to be alike, you'll have to choose between two backup lights, or two fog lights.
As I said, I was going for two fog lights, and figured to wire in a couple diodes so the fogs worked in both modes.

I still have the UK fog light, as I never installed it before getting my XKR. Sad part is it is now somewhere in storage (I know not where), or I would offer it up. Not even sure I can recall what I paid for it, but I think about $150. I just watched FleaBay.UK for a few months for one to show up.

If interested, PM me, and I can make an effort to dig through some boxes to see if I can get lucky....

OK maybe dumb question but I haven't pulled the unit to check. Question is for PRE - LED units 07-09. Is there a difference in the Lens/reflector for the rear fog light or is it merely a "red bulb"?

It can't be that simple because if it were I would wire my rear fog to the back up terminal and change the bulb.

What makes the left side unique compared to the right sans wiring?

I bought a used UK LH unit for $50; fitted right in, identical except for 'bulb' colour (white).
Easy to wire................don't drive the XK ('07 coupe) at night ; so just did it for fun!!
and stop the questions at the cafe!

Cheers, Adrian

Both left and right are LEDs with circuit boards attached. Not something I felt was easily modified. I don't recall the number in each but I think 3 LEDs per unit.

I'll be dipped. I thought there were a few internal LED bulbs but duh. It's staring right at me in the wiring diagram. When in doubt, read the manual I guess. Think before you type Sean. Geez. Thanks guys.
