Default Rear suspension noise loud creek squeek after heavy rain

Hey everyone, its been a while but im still loving the XK.

Its been raining really heavy lately and the rear passenger side of the vehicle has started to squeak really loudly especially when going up in a garage.

Ive sprayed every moving part I could find with silicon lubricant and the squeek remains.

What am I missing?

Spray doesn't get into the guts of the bushes, you have a dry one somewhere. If ONE is dry, more of them are dry also. Maybe change a bunch of 'em.

Do you know if any of the rubber suspension bushings have ever been replaced? If you're not sufficiently knowledgeable to inspect them yourself, find a local ASE-Certified technician who will inspect them for you. There's nothing special about the X150 suspension (other than the CATS shock absorbers), so any competent tech should be able to do it.

Time, and not mileage, is what causes rubber suspension bushings to wear out.

You can save a lot of $$$ by buying all the replacement parts in a kit on eBay. They're a fraction of the cost of the OEM Jaguar parts. That's what I did and my 2009 XKR Portfolio convertible now rides like it's brand new. Click here to read my 2024 suspension replac ement thread.

Thanks for the tip!

The rear suspension is original except for
the rear tie rods and sway bar links,
as I've changed those a few years ago.

What should be next, upper lower control arms?

Everything, as your XK is 16 years old. All rubber parts dry rot over time.

What silicone spray are you using? Is it actually silicone or a general-purpose lubricant?

I'm thinking stabilizer bushings.

But, just for fun, remove the rear bolt fastening the rear suspension frame to the body.
It can trap water, make strange things happen.

Update!! I indeed sprained the bushings 5 or 6 times over the past month or so and the noise slowly dissipated!

Yes my rear bushings need replacing, but until I have time to do that, soaking the bushings in silicon
spray has solved the issue. I used almost a whole can.
