Reset Service warning
'Service Required' Message appears on dashboard (2009+ models in the UK, 2010+ models elsewhere)
-This service reminder message sometimes appears as a result of the battery disconnect. Reset
it as follows:
1. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch (before the ignition is on).
2. Press the start button without applying the foot brake (do not start the engine)
3. Release the rear fog lamp switch (1sec)
4. Press and hold the trip computer cycle switch (within 1sec).
5. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch. (within 1sec)
6. Continue to hold the trip computer and rear fog lamp switches.
7. The message center should display "resetting service mode" and then "service mode reset"
8. Release the trip computer and the fog lamp switches and turn the ignition off.
Now the caveat.... you MUST get a good rhythm going for this to work. I practice doing it several times before I actually attempt it, on a good, solid one-second tempo. One push or release per second.

Funny.... I get one Oil Change every year regardless of miles. The service required message always comes on within a year. With my discounted oil change at Jaguar the message is cleared. My last oil change cost me $105 with a great coupon. I guess if you pay the $100+ for the oil change it will be cleared and you get fresh oil! I'm a cheap guy but always want things to be easy.
I got it done! Took a few tries but worked like a charm. Can I do the same for the Check Engine light? I fixed the issue that forced it on but I can't get it off? Or will it come off from driving?
In most cases it will go off after a few drive cycles if the issue is truly resolved. If not, get a $10 'ELM327' code scanner from eBay.

Typical P code once fixed needs 3 warm ups before MIL goes off.

You mean something like this? Does this work in all cars? It pushes engine codes to my phone?

I am waiting till they come down to $4.50
Do you have an iPhone?
^
iphone
.
^He spent more on the adapter than the phone.
The older iphones dont allow connection with cheap bluetooth devices. They require a wifi connection. So you can buy the wifi adapter from Amazon.
I dont believe any one of them can do more than the other. I have a bag full of the cheap adapters (android) that quit working or never worked.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA........... you clearly have no idea about anything. Ever. Since the beginning of time. And no doubt until the END of time.
Since icraps are INCAPABLE of connecting, evidently you think them superior. That's ludicrous.
ooooohhhhh, I want to SO much say a WHOLE bunch of stuff, but due to the Public Forum, I will refrain.

Only android, they are better for me.
Cant really comment if iphones are good or bad, never even used one.
Yes, Cee Jay hates anything crapple, but for those if us that are stuck with one for one reason or another, there are OBD-II readers that use wifi instead of bluetooth, and work just fine with icrap. I’ve got one, and have used it on multiple vehicles.
