Talking She's Here !!

Like a kid with a new toy on Christmas day.

We picked up the XKR today, a 2008 X150 with 27,000 miles on the clock which has been well loved by its previous owner.

Spent the afternoon fiddling around with settings and learning where everything is and then took her to have some new front tires fitted. The ones fitted to the car were the originals from 2008 .

Also popped off the rear seat cover to take out fuse 19 for the exhaust valves . Free extra burble, what's not to love.

Quick question if I may, I can't get the audio system to recognise my USB stick with music on it. Can anyone say what format it accepts in term of the USB formatting, size, MP3s etc.

I've attached a few pics and am looking forward to learning all about this beautiful girl.

Great car! Portfolio version with great Alcon brakes. Enjoy!

Nice car!

Hopefully CeeJay will chime in to confirm or correct me as I think he uses USB exclusively, but I think you need to have all of the songs in the root directory for it to work.

Also MP3 is fine.

No, all the .mp3 files can be in however many directories you wish. I have a LOT of songs, so a LOT of directories as each folder is for individual artists.
Anyway, I don't think the 2008 XKs use that USB as an interface, I do believe it is only for charging? I may be off my whack, but maybe it just needs a little software?
Check the AUDIO submenu, see if "Portable Audio" is there. That would include iPod and USB if it's activated.

ok thanks for the correction. Maybe I was thinking there had to be at least one mp3 file in the root directory to get the BoVee to play, or something like that, it's been a while... haha

Thanks all

re the usb and mp3s I’ve formatted the usb stick with fat32 and have put the mp3s into the root directory

I’m using a 32gb sandisk usb stick.

The car does have portable audio as an option and when I insert the usb stick he car seems to be trying to dock it but after 30 seconds or so it fails to dock the usb stick

The mp3s are 44100 MHz and encoded at 192KB

there are about 770 mp3 files in the root directory

Surely the PE came with portable audio but as CeeJay indicated, see if that source is listed. Also it's possible it was fitted with the optional ACM.

Let me check my format, maybe it has to be NTFS?
Nope, checked, mine is also FAT32.
Do you see the "Docking USB" at the top of your screen?

After it docks, should look something like this...

My PNY 64GB drive that I keep in there...

Thanks again.

I managed to get the USB issue sorted out. I used a different USB stick and it's worked 1st time

I'm not sure if it was the different brand or that the different stick was USB 2

This is the USB stick that works

I've got the car booked in on 12th July to have a new condenser fitted as the current one is U/S so no aircon just now and I'm getting the tracking done at the same time

I'm looking to source a toolkit and space saver wheel over the coming weeks. I know that I need a 7mm spacer for the rear from the research that I've done and I've spotted the following toolkit from 2006 XKR on ebay in the UK. I'm guessing that the lug wrench will be the same size etc. Do you know if it will fit mine.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401246942...AAAOSwz2tZpHFh

Regarding the spacer I've been to motorsport-tech.com/adaptec/car/jaguar_s but they charge $100 to ship to the UK for a $35 part. Does anyone know of a UK distributer or source of such a spacer. Initial searches have come up blank.

It appears that you read my old thread from 2012. Note that the OEM X150 spare doesn't fit with Alcon brakes.
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-brakes-67260/

Here's mine. The black and yellow OEM 12V inflator is at the bottom left and my torque wrench is above it inside the black case.

I'm not sure if the toolkit you found on Ebay will fit inside the spare as it's from the earlier X100 model and the shape is different from mine.

Good luck with your quest! In the meantime, keep a Bible in your trunk (boot) and pray that you don't get a flat!

You're welcome. You're a newbie, so you should know that you can say Thanks by pressing the button at the bottom right corner of the post.

That seller has one for an additional £50. Read the item description.

Beautiful ride. Enjoy it. You might want to try Adamesh in the UK for any accessories you want/need.
