Default Sirius module

My Sirius radio is doing daily channel updates. I assume that means that the module is not retaining it in memory. I plan to replace the module. Here's the question. Can I use a newer version, like the one used in early XFs? It looks identical.

I too have the same channel
updating issue. Strangely when I replaced the vehicle battery the issue significantly improved. I understand there are many strange battery related issues in the XK series, this may be another. If there is a better fix, I too would be interested.

Sirius is performing updates… much more frequently than before.

I keep mine on a battery tender so doubt there's a battery issue. From what I've read, the newer modules have more Sirius channels available than the original: an added benefit of replacing the old module.
