Tried to buy an 09 XKR, but alas :(
Thought I had found the steal of the decade, I'm sure loads of you already saw it. I started looking for a V8 Vantage out of bordom, saw the XKR and my blood when wild with 'Must have now', and decided I wanted one fullstop. So prepared to sell my 05 CTS-V and started looking.
What looked like a nice 09 XKR for $35,995 popped up.
Used 2009 Jaguar XK Series XKR Portfolio (Gray Car) Pembroke Pines
But alas, the dealer has sent it for auction, as it did not pass their safety due to suspension issues. I confirmed this, as I found the auction listing for it as well.

Who knows, maybe one of you guys could get it cheap, and fix what ever ails her.
I'll bide my time, and get one next year.
I'm in Canada so prices here are just stupid.

Sorry it didnt work out for ya, but passing by this one was probably a good call.
The next 6 months are going to be scary for Jag buyers thanks to all the flood damaged cars coming off the eastern seaboard.
Stay alert in your hunt and avoid anything that sounds remotely suspicious or too good for the price...

Yes, that did seal the deal for sure after getting the info from the dealer. I give him one thing, he was damn honest. Gotta give him kudos for that.
The earlier posters comment about flood damage, is also dead on. I was looking at a 2010 CTS-V for sale that the owner only used to 'Go to the shore'. My alarms bells rang loud.
The flooding could take 12-24 months to clear most of the bad car through the system. Lots having their titles washed through Texas.

From a layman's perspective:
When cars are written off as "total loss" due to damage such as flooding, the title is "branded" before being sold at an auction. This branding is suppose to stay with the car forever so future buyers don't get taken. However here in the US, each state maintains it own titling process and requirements. So bad guys have learned that they can buy a branded car in one state, repair and transport it to another, and re-title it without the brand... Now they have a clean title and they can market the car at top dollar, with the buyer never being the wiser...until.....

But, keep in mind that no system is without flaws, and today's savvy crooks will certainly find a way to make a fast buck despite it.
Also, a "clean" Carfax is a joke, and no one should rely on it except to reject a car.

Katrina really made them step up to the plate and many more checks are in place than there were back then.

Of course, this doesn't mean that you're less likely to find a car with a clean Carfax and Autocheck report that has accident damage. However, it does mean that you probably won't be fooled into buying a "title washed" car.

Buying flood damaged cars is not always a bad deal, it all depends on the submersion. If the water level wasn't deep enough to cause with the problems with electronics, it might not be so bad. Ive seen 09 XKR and many other flood damaged cars for sale at vehbidz.com, I'm also thinking about buying a cheap car and I'm looking for differnt options including flood damamged cars.

Pending the issue, could be a good deal(pending in person condition). Friend of mine bought lemon buyback. Reason was bluetooth issues. Simple and ended up with really nice deal...
