Default Trunk/Hatch Handle Attach Points

Hi all.

I just tried to put my trunk handle (the one that is black plastic, that goes into the inside of the hatch) back in but it keeps on falling out. I am now wondering if the handle (it is more of a concave-style piece of plastic that inserts into the hatch lid) has broken tabs. I can't easily tell from the part so am curious if any of you have a photo of how this is supposed to be held in. I am thinking some sort of retaining clip or receptacle plastic...but I see neither.

Car is a 2012 US coupe. I can add photos in a few minutes to show you what I mean. Any help is much appreciated.

Your little tab-things are worn out. There is supposed to be more 'meat' on the ridges to get behind the liner material.
Maybe some extra plastic bits and some superglue?
