Default Water leak passenger side XK 2007

Need your support in regards to my Jaguar XK model 2007. There is serious water leak on the passenger side just below the glove compartment. Water licking is too much and I do not think it is comming from the air condition system which works well. There is some water stopper I guess as I have this problem after the car is washed...
please for your info if available

much appreciated

Unless it only happens when you wash the car, in which case it sounds like a windshield seal leaking.
But if it leaks without wahing the car, you’ve got a clogged duckbill. Search this forum for ‘duck bill’ and ‘duckbill’ and you’ll find threads on the topic, with DIY solutions.

Just to explain: the duckbill is a rubber tube with a 'squashed' end like the beak of a duck. It is the drain point for the air-conditioning system, to get rid of condensed water. The end of the tube stays closed, to stop insects getting into the a/c system - when water builds up, the pressure of the water and the air in the a/c is supposed to force the two sides of the duckbill open and let the water out. It works for most people but, particularly in hot dry climates, the two sides can become stuck together; that traps the water, which eventually overflows into the blower area just above the passenger's feet. Hence the leak, and sometimes also a dead blower.

Spot on description of the problem. I have just done mine on my 2007 XKR. Had to pull out the whole dashboard including steering column to get access to the duckbill drain. I cut off the end to open up the exit aperture and prevent clogging again.

Duckbill end before cutting

Duckbill end after cutting and removal of blockage

Dash and centre console out of car

Blower box pulled back from bulkhead to access the duckbill drain (middle of picture). It penetrates the hole in the bulkhead and drain condensate to atmosphere (over the transmission below).

Great pictures, too bad you had to go through so much effort to get to that duckbill on your ‘R’.
Well done, hope you don’t have any leftover pieces when it’s all back together.

I still perform the “close all vents” and “set the fan on high” method every month or two, hoping to avoid precisely this.

Borrowing the pic below for some information.

Figured it out.

I used a cable camera to probe the heat exchanger, going in from the top vents. In the pic below, you're entering through the topmost vent opening in the box.

If you set the center vent to the center (face) setting, and turn the temp to full cold, this opens two temp mix doors so you see the evaporator with the cable camera inserted through a top center vent. You can pretty much see all of it from the inside -- meaning the blower is pushing air through the evaporator towards you and out the center vent. If you set the temp to hot, you can see a temp mix door gradually close until the cold dehumidified evap air is pushed through the hot heater core.

I'm going to get an Auto ac cleaner to foam the evaporator. It's made to liquefy after 15 minutes and drain out the (former) duckbill opening. I'll make a video and show the result.
