It's a model run-out package, and is currently the only XKR model available here. Basically, a Dynamic Pack + Performance Active Exhaust + sports seats bundle which costs the same as the standard XKR used to. So, what used to be £9k's worth of options just became standard.
XK DYNAMIC R COUPÉ
Only significant options are adaptive lights, heated wheel & TPMS

You can get the same thing here XKR (Dynamic Pack and Black Pack). You just have to pay $10,000 more.

Neil, it's your "Luxury Car Tax" of AUD 35,279.79 and Stamp Duty of AUD 10,660.00 that does the damage.
Luxury Car Tax? - is that the "You shoulda boughta ute" tax?
That might explain 45K Aud of it,but if it cost approx. $140K AUD in GB where's the extra $65,000 gone. And it;s still the 'base' model here.
I travel around a fair bit and have only seen 1 late model Jag,an XF.Unless your Bill Gates best friend don't try and maintain a late jag here either.
The government had decided we should buy locally built cars, but we don't make any now. GM,Ford and Toyo are packing for home.

Protectionism trade policies are usually the result of weak, incompetent politicians being influenced by corporate interests who find it easier to eliminate competition than to make a better product. I can't think of a single example where a country has benefitted from restricting foreign investment.
