Got all of my Vulcan alloys unboxed, also a spare for the current front that is buckled (but balanced out)

Once it drops below 10c will be fitting them with sottozero's at the rear and Falken eurowinters at the front

Sorry not as practical as all of your posts seem to be

My study is starting to look like a car alloy place!!

Wish my wife understood that THIS is what interior decorating SHOULD look like!

In my younger days I had a bare engine block in my kitchen for the longest time.......... then I got married. It did get me to finally assemble the thing though.

Hi Sean,

I have him the entire dash and he made a pattern out of the factory leather.

Right, so today my car goes in for a full interior/exterior paint restore/sealant process is:

Wash
Clay
Wash
Anti-ferrous treatment
Wash
2 stage Machine polish
wash and dry
Hand polish
Apply ceramic coating and allow to stand for 10hrs*
Apply 2nd ceramic coating and allow to stand for 10hrs*

* Whilst it's curing

wheels are coming off and being clayed/ferrous/ceramic sealed
wheel arches/hubs/calipers cleaned and sealed
'R' white decals being applied to my black calipers
Full vacuum and upholster clean
Full leather clean and seal (Dr Leather)
exterior glass clean and seal
Interior glass clean and anti-fog coating
metal polish rear pipes

Plus he's also cleaning and sealing my second set of alloys in anticipation of my winter tyres going on them

He'll have the car for 3 full days and will get it back on Wednesday night...cost is £1050 but 3yr guarantee on the paint seal/2 on the glass

I've asked him to take pics during and will upload if anyone's interested, and for those that don't think a ceramic coat is the way to go, I had my new Toyota C-HR done in March 2017 and have washed it just 3 times...rain does the job of keeping it clean!

Taken at 6.30 in the rain! Note black bonnet vents back and fitted

Have got black 4D carbonwrap for the door mirrors (more as protection than anything else) and will apply when car is returned....for that extra sinister look that's likely to get me pulled by popo...lol

As my first white car I've noticed that insect impact...usually seen as black splodges on any other colour is ringed by red on a white car...which is the blood of the critter!

Oh had a couple of small (fingernail sized) scrapes on the carbon splitter, but rubbed those down with an emery board and coated with gloss black nail varnish...easy and cheap to purchase in the run up to Halloween for just £1!

Make sure he keeps it on a battery maintainer or you'll have a dead battery . Just a safe guard.

Question may be odd but how is there ferrous material on the body as it's aluminum? I'm unfamiliar with the process. Is there iron in the paint surface?

EDIT: Disregard. I saw video on this

It is that time of year again here in New Hampshire. We woke up this morning to see a light dusting of snow on the ground and flurries in the air. Tomorrow, the car goes in for its annual oil change and checking all the fluids. I also have them do close inspection to look for leaks and any potential problems that need to b addressed. The car has been washed and cleaned - next spring it will get a detailing. This weekend, I'll put it away for the winter. A sad time.
