nice work mate. i followed a similar path, but just was able to get away with Perfect Finish with a yellow pad for correcting. my paint likely was not a far gone as yours. one difference though, i used one coat of Miyabi and then added kamikaze ISM 1.0 on top of that. dare i say flawless?!? ...enjoy your Cat.

 

I wanted to use the ISM 1.0 as well but limited by budget. $149 US and the shelf life of these products basically allows for one time use. Once you open the bottle, even though there's enough product for 2 cars, there wasn't enough of my old body to polish out two cars.
I got the Miyabi on sale for $94.
The cool thing about the ISM is that it restores the plastic to new (per Esoteric) vs. Mayabi, which won't do any harm but just doesn't bond to plastic. ISM can also be used on glass I understand so it would have been a nice addition had I had the $.

Have to ask, what do you use on your wheels, mine are the same and they look awful.

 

Is that question for me? Mine are just powder coated close to the OEM color. I have ceramic brakes so little dust. I'm contemplating ceramic coating them but they take all of 15 minutes to clean.

 

Today is step one for cleaning the leather interior. I use Leatherique Rejuvenator. I let coat one bake in the sun today. I pulled into the bay and applied the second coat. Tomorrow is Pristine clean, followed by wiping down with a wet towel and then dry and buff. Good times.

 

Yes it was and thank you for the details. Mine are the original finish and I guess the finish is just worn from 12 years worth of detail. I have been contemplating a powder coat of PVD finish.

That looks to be a good price, I figure the closest to me with a good market is Atlanta, think I need to start making some phone calls.

 

Hit a huge pot hole and bang! Flat tire. Took about 10 seconds to completely deflate. Thought i had broken or cracked the wheel, but somehow it was only a hole in the tire.

Spare wheel came through once again. Also a nice reminder to finally buy that spacer for the rear wheel (spares don't fit rears with Alcon brakes, unless you have a spacer).

That tire is only a few months old, luckily Continental replaced it under warranty! Just had to pay for a balance at the dealer.

Bummer. Very lucky your wheel is good as must have been a big force to burst the tire. And warranty saved you a few $. Nice wheels BTW.
Mild winter here in RI (usually infamous for potholes!) so roads are pretty good and not much driving to do anyway.

 

Too much time on my hands while being safe and staying home. I decided to remove my black vents, change to silver and wrap the wood in black carbon fiber and change the shift knob. I wrapped the chrome piece around the shifter as it was pretty scratched up...

 

So I’d hoped to save significant money using a local auto locksmith to provide a spare smart key and emergency key. But no response from him after Initial contact. Waste of time🤬
Ended up at the local dealer which was the recommendation of many here on the forum. Ordered key fob and emergency key so should be delivered in a week or two. Had to stop in for them to verify my ownership.
Pricey but peace of mind will be worth it. Service manager turns out to be a client of my wife’s so I’m sure she’ll make sure the programming goes smoothly.

Decided to detail the underside of the hood on the XKR. Vacuumed the felt insulator, then scrubbed it with some foaming carpet cleaner, then did the painted parts with some waterless wash followed by some black wax. Looks like new now.....Need to get to the rest of the engine bay someday.

 

Well finally got my baby 'Sheeba' all washed and waxed, first of the season. I also installed the aluminum trunk finisher after a major oops last fall.

Ouch, was a bad fall day after this mishap.

Digging deep under the skin, more damage than obvious.

Yuck, I was so bummed for a couple of months.

After a slow rebuild, it was all together and ready for the winter respite.

First pictures after winter broke,

Washed and waxed first of the season. Guy did great job on the paint.

Replaced the chrome grill with 'R' version black

She still has a great looking backside.

New headlamp, tabs were broken on the old one.

Grille looks good in black




Thinking of changing the wheels to 20" and the brakes to 380mm Front.

Added this trunk finisher.

The Caps normally costs between 680 - 860€, I bought it on Ebay for 349€ and the Wheel Nuts for 216€.
But you must see at your Jag what type of Wheel Nut the have.
There was two different on the market...

With the plague lockdown, I had not driven the Jag at night. So took a short spin to see how effective the lighting was.
Headlights illuminated the road well on low, high, and cornering as did the front fogs. Reverse lighting was better than expected. And rear fog lamp was “brilliant” as a red dwarf sun!
