Hi guys & gals. I just bought a 2006 Xk8 and hate the quiet sound. I've searched and searched and I'm really confused. I don't want it loud just more rumble. I see some say to cut off the 2 rear behind the axle mufflers, replace the 2 rear mufflers, replace the center muffler with a Y pipe but yet when I search for parts I only find companies in the UK. How do I get a decent rumble out of the stock exhaust. Thanks!

 

Wow are you in the wrong forum. Thread title says XK8, which would be up through 2006. OK, so probably an XK 2007-2015.... but now an XJ8?

Going with the info in the XK forum and supposedly the XJ would be similar......... get an exhaust shop to remove the Center Exhaust Section with the resonators, and make a removable section WITHOUT any resonators and WITH an X-pipe. Cost for a Muffler shop to do that should be $200-300 and it'll give you the sound you say you want....... not so much louder but rumblier and with the pops and snorts one would think should have been OEM. Sort of like an F-Type.
