XKR 2010 Battery Problem
Hi!
In 2019 i bought a 2010 XKR 5.0 with 80.000 km & after like 6 Months my Battery died & i had to replace it. And now not even a year and my new battery died as well (I‘am charging it right now) How can this happen & does someone know how to locate the issue or is it a common problem ? (Sorry if my English is bad im from Germany)

Welcome to the forum, tcsamir21. This is a great place to get answers to many problems with your XK, and battery problems are very common with these cars. Use the search box in the upper right of the screen to find many threads discussing low and dead batteries in XKs.
When you say your battery "died" did you mean that it would not start the car or that it can't be charged and needs to be replaced? I see that you have it on a charger. Also, did you check the voltage level with a proper tester?
If the battery can be recharged, a couple of things you can do to lower the risk of this happening again are:

If the battery can be recharged, a couple of things you can do to lower the risk of this happening again are:
- Always lock the car - in a locked condition the car drains the battery more slowly
- Keep the battery connected to a battery maintainer - such as a CTEK - if possible. The battery maintainer needs to be connected to mains power, so if you park the car outside, this may be difficult.

Thanks for the fast reply. Iam going to buy a CTEK soon (i think it‘s the best solution because i usally do short trips and i think that is the problem) & Yes my car didn‘t start . As is said it happened like 7-8 Months ago and i replaced the Original Battery and now it‘s dead again.
Your XKR has electronic modules that draw current even after the engine is shut off and while it remains in Convenience Mode, which will automatically shut off after around 20 minutes. You can manually shut off Convenience Mode by locking the doors. You also need to keep your Smartkey fobs at least 20 feet away from the car or in a metal box that will stop its RF signals, so it doesn't wake up Convenience Mode.
Even with the car locked, etc., the car still draws current to power the security system and other modules. That's no problem if you drive your XKR often enough to keep the battery charged. Note that cold weather adversely affects battery performance.
Your new CTEK should eliminate the problems you've been having. If it's a model that has Recondition Mode, it may be able to resurrect your dead battery.
Buying a brand new battery is no guarantee that it's fully charged. Many new batteries sit on retailer's shelves for months without ever being charged, and are not fully charged when installed.

Welcome to the club @tcsamir21 . I’m with @Stuart S and @u102768 . There is something amiss here. The bandaid of a maintainer may be helpful but there is a root cause to these ill effects that should be sorted.

From the Owner's Handbook:
This thread from 2009 (before I bought my XKR and joined the Forum) may be the source source of that disinformation. Several owners reported locking their keys in their cars.

Same here, from 2012:

Theoretically, if you lock your X150 and leave your Smartkey close enough to your car where it is still in range of the keyless entry module, anyone could pull the door handle and open your car. I'm not sure how far that might be.
