It won’t be a very accurate assessment as you are also not considering idle time. Nature of acceleration, deceleration, etc.
My city mileage can be just as atrocious.
To have a better indication, put the tripmeter on the auto setting and go for a drive up the Palisades Parkway.
If you are not reaching closer to the book value, it may be worth investigating the rat hole of reasons for poor mileage.
Besides, with that city driving, your car might need to stretch its legs;-)

MPG is a thing? I just fill up and drive. Maybe I looked at it a few years ago, but not for a very long time.

When driving Grace, my XKR, I feel she doesn't like to go slow. So, I lead foot it all the time, after reaching temp.

Also, there is no better feeling than being in the pole position at a red light. I am gone like Jaguar on the hunt!

Filling the tank means more smiles on my face.

Rick

I worried about it initially only because poor MPG can be a sign of engine issues. I don't worry about now that I'm confident it isn't "held together by wire and a couple a' hunks of twine." (to quote the late great Jim Croce)

Around 15 mpg - varies with the amount of idling. 23 mpg on the highway on cruise.
