XKR suddenly got dymanic mode fault
I have an XKR. I put in dynamic mode a lot as the exhaust sounds better. It turns on but after a minute or so it turns off and says dynamic mode fault. Also the paddles won’t work which I assume is connected. When I switch the engine off. It resets and it will come on but switches off again soon after.
Hi Stuart.
it’s a 2011 with many 2012 upgraded parts. Dymanic was fine but suddenly stopped on Saturday. Starts up and it will switch on but then turns off saying fault. Also paddles can’t be used. Battery seems ok. Not sure how to make sure it’s 100 % ?

Battery should read at least 12.6 volts after sitting overnight and before you start the engine. A weak battery will cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.
Search this Forum for how to do a hard reset. That clears the volatile memory in several modules and resets them to factory defaults.
If your XKR is not your daily driver, I recommend that you keep it on a battery maintainer (not a trickle charger). See:

Hi Stuart. Just realised. I had a steering wheel refit the day before in new two tone leather. Then next day the dynamic doesn’t work and neither do the paddles. ! I’m thinking this must be the issue ?
Ok, that’s new info! Yep, go back to the fitter, they messed it up.
@Belsy23 If you don't need the exhaust to ever be in quiet mode, and I don't know why you would as these cars are not loud, you can remove fuse 19 I believe between the rear seats or disconnect the vacuum actuators on the exhaust and plug the lines. I unplugged mine and while I was in the LR wheel well disconnected and removed the vacuum pump. Because...... weight reduction.

I had a wheel re trim and he had not plugged on wire back in that controlled the dynamic and paddles. All ok now. It’s is loud to be fair I think it’s a different exhaust and it was tuned to 593 BHP ! But does sound slightly better with dynamic on.
