Thanks to Gus, I also use the RaggTopp Convertible kit. After it's dry and in the garage, I use a lint roller on it and it comes out sweet.

I know this is sort of an old thread, being a month ago, but I figured I'd chime in on brake pads.
I've used Akebono pads on the 03 STR before I sold it, they were absolutely fantastic, so much so I put them on the 09 XF.
Absolutely no noise, no dust and smooth as silk, not even the typical Jaguar groan when you 'brake creep'. They are available for the XK8/R too.

Default XKR 100 Brake Pads

Thank you for the additional brake pad suggestion, I did buy the EBC Redstuff pads and these are installed. At first started squeaking Immediately but now I notice it on steep hills only. I have not put many miles on my car so hopefully the brakes will be broken in after the mileage adds up.

The XKR 100 does not have special mats, they are normal mats. Everything else noted is correct.

apparently there is a wide range of experience with these brakes during the break-in period. Although I don''t religiously adhere to the break-in instructions, I've never had a peep of squealing from my ebc red stuff pads. I did have a low speed growling just before the car came to complete stop. But that when away after the first 50 miles +/-.

However I do always replace or resurface the disc rotors when fitting new pads. Used rotors and new pads is always a crapshoot.
