Default 2004 XKR Options question.

My 04 XKR Convertible has 20" BBS Wheels, Recaro Seats Front & Back, Red Brembo Caliper Covers, Adaptive Headlights and Parking Assist.

I've been searching all over and do not see others with the same configuration and can't find an options listing. My question is .... are any of these special order or rare options to see on and 04 XKR. Does anyone have one the same?

You should be able to find a 2004 Jaguar XK sales brochure on line. Cost is probably under $15.00 and the sales brochure will be original from that year and provide you with all the available options for that model year.

These are nice to have as they also help with the resale of the car in the future.

I have both sales brochures and media kits from 2009 for my XKR.
They provide allot of information as to optionable items.

It sounds like the original owner picked items from the R Performance option list, the brakes (£495), seats (£1,700) and wheels (£2,500) are anyway.

When you say adaptive headlights, do you mean auto levelling? The adaptive headlights swivel sideways when cornering, the auto levelling adjust with pitch of the car.

I've moved your question from XK/XKR 2006-Onwards to XK8/XKR 1996-2006 forum. This is the section for your model.

There's nothing on your list that wasn't available for UK 2004MY and I don't see why US should be any different.

The following MY saw the Victory Edition in the US (4.2-S in the Rest of the World) which had all previous options fitted as standard.

Sorry, the first reply was misdirected. The Victory Edition was not available in the US and I've neaver heard of a 4.2-S over here.

I've only been able to locate UK versions of the 2004 R Performance Options bruchure. I think thre was a difference.

Was the Brake option Just Red covers or actually different Brakes from the XKR standard?

I was told that the Recaro Front & Back seats were $6k in the US by a couple of people.

My headlights are self Leveling ( wink when the igition is turned on) and also Rotate horizontally as you turn. Covers are unusual to as they appear to be lightly Smoked Black.

The car was ordered by the owner of a Jaguar Dealership in Ohio and kept until late 07 as a driver by the Dealership owner. One strange thing is that Jaguars System shows the Car as being sold in the UK and serviced many times over there ( which is not correct). The VIN number bounces from Jaguars system as invalid. The build sheet has some strange annotations on options added that the Local Jag dealer can't figure out what they even are. The only thing that actually tracks it's history is CARFAX.

So I have a 2004 Portfolio Edition with every option but the adoptive cruise control (shame because I like adoptive cruise control). I did notice that the lights did seem to look around corners but thought that was the side markers getting brighter. It had auto leveling (not anymore because I've changed the lights out). But everything you list on your car seemed to come on mine as well. But the Portfolio came in Red and Blue and clearly your car is neither. So it looks like it was optioned up but, based on my car, the options were clearly available.

That was kind of my take, I mean the Dealer that ordered it for himself may have wanted the Portfolio but not in Red or Blue, or they were sold out and he optioned up to the Portfolio Level. My car is the same, everything but Adaptive cruise. I probably wouldn,t order that mayself, when I'm on the open higway I tend to pass slow moving vehicles, not adjust to their speed.

I have it in my blown FX, driving up and back to the city on 280 I can just set the cruise to 75 and sit in the number two lane, foot off the gas, and it is much more relaxing. The car adjusts for the speed of the traffic automatically. Otherwise cruise control is pretty useless unless you set is slow and become a slalom cone for others. I wanted it in my S5 but the one I got didn't have it and they don't even make it for the F-Type. (I guess they figure you'll actually want to control the gas peddle in it, go figure). But I'm a fan if you are driving in regular traffic.

The Victory Edition was only made for the US.

Introduced at the 2005 Los Angeles International Auto Show, the Victory Edition was offered in model year 2006 to "celebrate Jaguar's four championship wins in the North American Trans-Am road racing series". Production of Victory Edition models was 1,050 cars.

The same specification was available to the Rest of the World markets as the 4.2-S on which the only limit was the number Jaguar could sell.

I had an XK8 4.2-S Coupe before my current XK.

Those "covers" were not covers at all. The XKR came with Brembos standard, but there was an option to order them with red paint versus the standard silver finish.

I understand that all XKR's came wioth Brembo's. By covers I mean the Caliper covers being RED, a rather enormously expensive option for a simple paint color change if that is what the option was.

rperformance,

Let me know what you find out. I have the same questions. My 03 has the Recaro's, Momo steering wheel and shifter knob, red "R" Brembos, Detroits, Adaptive CC, aluminum pedals, shifter and gauge surrounds. I have the 2003 sales brochure and it doesn't mention the red calipers or the aluminum stuff. I also happen to have the 2004 brochure/booklet (actually too large to be either) as well. No love there either. No mention of the Portfolio's.
