Default 2005 Black Knight edition

Good morning Jag Enthusiasts.

I have purchased a low mileage 2005 Black Knight badged XK100 XKR , sometimes called Black Prince. The car was one of a very limited production compared to other UK special editions but was sold in Japan.
Intend to import to my home in Cape Town South Africa and would ask for any assistance with details about the collectability of this model to submit to the relevant authorities and also for myself as a collector and a massive Jag enthusiast.

Regards Ben Uri

Sounds like you have a 'Rare Cate'. Good luck with it.

Ben,

This is all a bit shaky!....Could be something a Dealer came-up with but I don't think it's a Jaguar idea! If it were "for real" there would be something out there about it! Before I put any real Money into the deal, I would search the Net for something about it! If you find something about a "Black Knight Edition", please let us know......!

Send us some Pictures!

HERE is some info! It looks like it was a Jaguar version for Japan only.

It is not much known amongst UK , USA and European and indeed South African enthusiasts. This is because all Google searches exclude Japanese editions for some reason.I will post some pics.

Out in West TEXAS where the Cowboys roam, this is what is known as "HOG WASH"!

I'm not going to "Buy" this "Jap Story".....and it appears that "Jon89" didn't either!..............Sorry! Nice try................Looks like a nice looking Black XK8 in the Photo! Why not send us a Photo of the Whole Car?

yes this is a real car. it's basically a blacked out carbon fibre edition with no carbon fiber and alcantara inserts in the doors

Dear Ben Uri,

I would like to spend a minute asking for your forgiveness! I've been a Horse's *** for the last week or so and I would like to apologize for treating you so badly! It certainly is no business of mine and I shouldn't have said a word, but I just had to be an *** and I'm sorry!

Sounds like your XKR is really good looking! They are about the best-looking Car around, especially in Black! I really would like to see a Photo of it!

Sorry!

All good mate , meanwhile here in South Africa , I am struggling to convince the authorities that this car is a special addition even though it is one of 20 made.If anyone knows anybody in the USA or UK that could write me a letter mentioning that it is collectable as it was never released in RSA , UK or USA or Europe , I would really appreciate the help from fellow Jag enthusiasts. My email is richmeats@icloud.com.

You could contact the Jaguar Heritage Trust and see if they have any further information on this version. For £50 they will give you a certificate with the original details of the car:

https://www.jaguarheritage.com/archi.../certificates/

From the photos it looks like it has various optional extras as standard, including Sepang wheels which were a $6,000 option at the time. I'm not sure if the alcantara seat trim was an option available, or is special for this car, but you certainly have a nice looking car, with a very rare Black Knight badge. How much more collectable the badge makes the car compared to the similar Victory edition, is anyone's guess, but people always want to pay more for exclusivity.

Aside from the wheels and badging, the Black Knight looks to be pretty much identical to the Carbon Fiber edition. Nice looking!
