Can anybody tell me what year transmissions will fit a 98 XK8?

I have a craigslist post to sell a 99 XJ8 transmission ( I have it listed to fit a 99-02), a person called me and he has 98, I am not sure if it will work for him?

I checked Car-Parts and they only list 98's for 98's?

Anyhow, I don't want to sell this guy something that won't work for him. I've been there and have bruises to prove it.

I remember contacting JagTechOhio about this and he said he put AJ27 gearboxes in AJ26 cars. He said he just used the box itself and not the rotary switch. He said he used the rotary switch from the the car with the damaged trans and had no problems.

The only difference I see in the parts catalogue are the internal harness and the rotary switch. They have different part numbers AJ26 vs. AJ27.

It's your call but I would guess that it would work.

Thank you. I did find a website that crossed all transmissions. It is exactly as you said, you must us the flywheel and crank sensor from the car that the transmission is going in to.
