ABS Control Module identification
The ABS Control Module on my 2003 XK8 (NA) is identified as 3W83-2C219-BD. I'm getting the typical ABS & DSC faults so I'm considering replacing it. I've found a module but the last two digits are BB. What's do these last two digits signify; does anyone have experience with this?
There are a few different modules used on the XK8 year models. Early one have 4 attaching small bolts and later years have three small bolts. Depending on the VIN range on your car, the above parts # should fit 2003-2006. The parts # you referenced is superseded by # C2N3615 according to my recent query to a Jaguar Dealer Parts man.. Not familiar with the BD vs BB, maybe another person can help. The solder method was common repair on early models with 4 bolts. May not be as simple on later year models. Good luck with your project.
The part # on the module casing isn't a Jaguar one (it is the same on the early cars).
JEPC gives C2N3651 as the current module supersession #. A search on the code returns AB,BB and BD valid for the late cars, but no information on the differences.

So my ABS & DSC Unavailable saga continues.
Recently I replaced the ABS pump and Control module with a known good item and frustratingly these two warnings haven't cleared. I've tried the routinely voiced "to do" items such as disconnecting the battery negative and also allowing the positive and negative to touch for a long period to ensure the ECU completely drains down; faults persist. Am I missing something that needs to be done; is there an ABS reset procedure that isn't well know etc.?
Other things done to get this resolved:
Checked all ABS wheel sensors, had to replace one.
Replaced front right wheel sensor cable.
Cleaned all the sensor rings.
The battery was replaced 12 months ago and is kept on a CTEK tender between trips.
Cleaned the abs plug and pins.

Bob, sounds like you ALMOST have your troubles fixed. With your new ABS pump assembly properly installed, suggest you have the module configured to your car. I had same situation with light and warning until I had the module re configured. With proper code scanner, it should advise this action (Code U-2202) or until it is completed, you will continue to have lights on. The entire 3 month ordeal is detailed my my most recent DCS/ABS thread. Finding someone with the programing tool may be a chore.
It's good to hear that I'm close. What do you know about the programming tool, some details would help me identify someone that can help out in what I hope would be the last step?

I've used to different scan tools and so far it isn't showing any codes.
Regarding CODES, after my work was completed, I showed no codes, C or P, but a code U2202. RECONFIGURE. This meant locate someone with SDD or other means of configuring the module to the car. I called local repair shops where I had friends who worked in shops who had to reprogram new parts. They advised when their tools (scanners) did not work, they called a roving tech who came and did updates,etc.. The roving tech used a Autel Maxisys? whatever with proper JLR updates. Apparently AUTEL has access to the software. He worked about 20 minutes (3 cycles) and declared success. I cranked the car and NO MORE LIGHTS OR WARNINGS. All is well. I think the R.F. harness to ABS sensor was bad along with to S.A.S.. Without a adequate scanner, you will have difficult time getting all codes. The roving Tech does dealership work when they have problems. Byproduct, the re programing had all updates and transmission now shifts more smoothly...
