Have this sticker on the door jamb on my 03' XKR conv in the US. Looks like dealer did something and marked it in 04' back when it was nearly new - says "RS13" I think. Any guesses what it might mean? Only non-stock things on it that I'm aware of are the Milan BBS 18" that I don't even think are for the XKR... and a front grill I had assumed was aftermarket.
I recall the “R513” was a recall relating to the transmission shift protocol. Something about inadvertently shifting into reverse or similar. There is a TSB on exactly what it entailed. This was performed by the dealer network when the car was taken in for service or customer complaint. This was also completed on my 03 XK8 although my sticker was put on the radiator support!
RECALL 307-R513
Here is what we did at the dealer 'back-in-the-day'.
Thanks - that's in interesting read. I see it mentions a few other service operations that should be done as part if it. A couple of them caught my eye:
S840 Battery Quiescent Drain - XK
S844 OBD System Readiness Flag P1111 Fails to Set - XKR
These are two of the remaining minor annoyances I still have on my car. Is there an easy way to tell those were actually applied - I just have a generic obd tool? It's been like a year since I cleared codes and with no other codes or errors or pending ever, that p1111 doesn't go away for me. Luckily someone on the forum tipped me off I could still likely pass emissions as long as it was just a single module or whatever the terms... so doesn't really affect me and car seems very healthy. That S844 talks about a 'revised purge valve - Re-program ECM and install purge valve.
If your battery doesn't go flat quickly, all's OK. If you feel like it, read threads about quiescent current (for any of XK, S-Type, etc).
You want - yes, want! - P1111. It goes away if you clear codes (so don't), changing to P1000.
P1111 is a Jag-specific harmless pending status code, not a fault, saying all supported OBD monitors are happy.
Oh I right - had them mixed up in my head - I have the P1000 that never clears but only for one module, so was still able to pass. I spend days scouring the internet and doing countless infuriating test runs (pulling over on the side of the highway to idle for 10 minutes after driving steady 70mph for 30seconds - type of insanity. And just never clears and was never able to figure out why. But once someone clued me in that I could still pass, and since car seems to work great and never raises a real code, I gave up on it.
