Default Best way to disable antenna

I only listen to CD's and would like to disable the antenna so it doesn't rise every time I turn on the radio. 2004 XK8.
Does it have a dedicated fuse? Or do I need to find the wiring connector and unplug it?

I simply unplugged mine, at the base of the antenna.

Open the boot and remove the carpeted side piece on the right side. Use a flashlight and look behind the audio equipment, you'll see the base of the antenna. Simply unplug the wire from the base, and that's it.

Funny enough, even with my antenna unplugged I can still receive radio stations quite clearly, but not for as far a distance.

Put in "Disconnecting the power antenna " in the search, plenty of options.

I put a rocker switch inside the console, off for the IPOD & CD changer, on for the radio.

Easy project.

Old thread but very helpful. I disconnected mine this evening and surprisingly I can still get most of my stations here in San Antonio. Once again this forum proved very useful, thanks dudes!

Default Marine antenna used in trunk option ?

I had mine disconnected 2 years ago but FM stations fade in and out here in Denver, CO and AM radio is unusable. Someone once wrote about running a "marine antenna" around the trunk and connecting it into the system so full reception was restored.

Suggestions on the specific part and where to have it attached?

Rev Sam has some really detailed videos! I just spent the last hour and thirty minutes watching his tutorials on a car I don't have! Great stuff!
