:( bummer - looks like a little leak - RESOLVED!!!!!!!!!!
drove home from work and noticed a burning smell but all indications were fine and car ran sweet so thought it might be one of the other cars on the interstate. unfortunately got home and notice the odor had followed me home.
popped the bonnet and saw a small pool of liquid near the bottom of the engine compartment on the drivers side.
looked underneath and found she has sprung a leak. Now to get her on a lift to thoroughly figure out what needs repaired

That is a bummer. I am crossing my fingers that it's an easy fix. If the source isn't obvious, a pressure tester might be a good investment. I was stumped by a leak in a 6.0 liter I used to have. The pressure tester disclosed a pinhole in one of the small hoses. The coolant was hitting one of the hot pipes and evaporating without a trace. Couldn't see it until the engine was cool.
P.S. What I wouldn't give to have access to a lift!

Not coolant (although I do have a small leak at the 3way connector under the throttle body). This has an oil consistency - think it may be power steering fluid.
agree on the need for a lift!!

finally got to check the reservoir and it is extremely low. Wasn't able to get underneath to fully check, but approaching 130K with all original hoses, I think it is in my best interest to simply replace them - will order the hoses and take care of this week and hope it is nothing more.
