After I got my car back the key fob no longer worked. I replaced batteries and tested it at an auto parts store, works fine. The car enters pairing mode but won’t detect the fob. Any suggestions on what to do next?
Did the fob work previously? Do you more than 1 fob? Was both working before? Is the other still working?
Had similar problem with one key fob, and so after trying to reprogramme DIY, I eventually took it to a specialist lock smith who programmed both.
In your case, after the recent work on your convertible top, the wiring to the module might have been damaged. Worst case, pure coincidence though, the security module PCB has developed a short.
I wonder if the antenna coax from the SLM has been disturbed/damaged during the works on the convertible top?
I believe it runs on the RHS up by the rear wheel well, but I can't find any clear information on its routing.

I think your programing is screwed ….Try this:...…….
Get in and shut the door
Put key in ignition
Pull Blinker back until Headlight bights come on and then release
Move Key to accessary
Pull Blinker back 4 times
Click your Key Fob (since you only have the one) 5 times
The little light down by the shifter should blink and your OK...
The fob antenna attaches to the SCLM in the trunk, with a coax connector:
I would start by taking the car back to whoever worked on the top, chances are they dislodged the coax, or inadvertently broke it off somehow while working the top pump.
For further testing, you might want to try and activate the fob as close to the module as practical, or at least near the rear window. If that does not work, try and substitute another antenna from that coax connector on the SCLM. Hopefully, it is standard enough to be workable.
There are other worse scenarios. This antenna connects to a circuit on a daughter board in the SCLM and have been known to fail. To my (superficial) knowledge these modules have been reported as getting expensive on the used market, unfortunately.
