Can't hurt.
My 2000 XK8 doesn't get much use in the winter, but I do keep it on a trickle charger.
I thought to myself, on a constent charge the terminals would build up the same as they were being driven. So the lead powder would prevent a positive connection and full voltage flow.
Sure enough they were both a dull powder finish on the cable and terminal.
A battery terminal cleaner shinned them right up and I fell a lot better.
Last time I drove it I had full voltage but a couple of miles down the road I had the Christmas tree on the dash. Quick restart and all was good. I think this was the problem, Please be the problem. LOL

I agree with RJ. CTEK is the way to go.
