Default cd changer = mp3?

Hi,
is the factory premium, Alpine (2005) cd player capable of playing mp3s?

Ah, I didn't know that, I'll give it a go!

Do any of you use the AVC that increases the audio volume as you accelerate? The setting goes from 1 (strongest) to 5 (weakest) and is accessed by holding down the audio on button for two seconds.

I always wanted a negative scale from -5 to -1, so that when you accelerate the audio gets quieter to let you enjoy the sound of the engine and exhaust... Not like those Audis and BMW that play you a fake exhaust noise through the speakers in sport mode

Simon - I can't guarantee it will work, but maybe if you swap the battery leads over (black to positive and red to negative) you would get the desired effect ??
