Ceramic Brake Pads for 2005 XKR 20" Wheels/Brembos
My 2005 XKR has 20" wheels with cross-drilled rotors and red Brembo calipers. Can anyone recommend good ceramic brake pads (front and back) with model numbers that fit this setup? I have contacted Akebono and confirmed that they only make pads that fit the REAR brakes. Thanks for your help and advice!
There is a company called R1 Concepts out of California. They have ceramic pads for the Brembo brakes. I have the fronts installed for a couple of months now and all good. Will be doing the rears in the next few weeks.

Wow, they have a great price and availability for both fronts and rears, plus good reviews. I will definitely be checking them out.
Almost the same car, mine is Salsa red. I fitted Hawk pads and they worked great, both on the road and on race tracks (track day). No sign of fade but I can get them to squeal in traffic jams however a few hard applications and they clean up.
I just walked out to the Garage and took this Photo! No special lights just an iPhone!
When I had the 2000 XKR it had the plain old Jaguar Brake Rotors and Pads...….They need help! So, I found FrozenRotors.com and called them to help me....I came away with a Beautiful set of Drilled & Slotted Frozen Rotors and new Hawk Pads.....Cost a little but MAN!!! I had some BRAKES! As I have progressed through the years to newer and different XKR's, the first thing I did was to upgrade the Brakes...The 2003 had Drilled Brembo brakes, so I sent them to Frozen Rotors to be processed and they sent them back with Hawk Pads...….Then, I got the 2005 XKR and did the same thing over 50,000 miles ago...…! Today, after reading this Thread.....I notice several guys wanting to know about Ceramic Pads and I wonder why? I couldn't ask for a better Brake Pad than my Hawks.....They Work!!! and the Frozen Rotors show very little wear over these last 50,000 Miles! I figure I've got a minimum of another 50,000 before I even have to start thinking about my Brakes...My driving is in traffic daily, stop and go, stop and go! I'm not easy on Brakes....You Guy's do what you want but I going stay here....

I recently installed ceramic pads to the front brakes of my 2005 XKR (Brembo cross drilled rotors with 20 inch BBS wheels)...... Used Centric PosiQuiet pads, part number 105.08100. Love the way the brakes feel and completely eliminated a tendency to "grab" on slow stops.

Reason: Correct name of wheels!
I have been using Hawk pads for a long time, they have been the best pads for my purposes, just normal street driving. They will squeal now and then on initial application, but high performance pads are likely to do that. The thing that I am after is that these pads limit the tendency of the rotors to groove, which adds years to their life and on cross drilled Brembo brakes, this is serious money.
I just ordered a full set, pads, rotors, front and rear with bimetallic pads Brembo Brakes with 20" wheels. I ordered them from Performance Brakes out of Calf. They carry a complete line of rotors and pads for Jags. Hope they work out ok. Was $480.00 for the complete brake job.
Ceramic Brake Pads for 2005 XKR 20" Wheels/Brembos
Hey, I see a lot of discussion on drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads but I need to replace what I'm guessing are "basic" Brembos since rotors are solid and calipers aren't solid red (silver, green, red R) on my 2005 XKR. Wheels are 20" with 14" (355mm?) rotors. Don't know whether pads are ceramic, metallic, etc. Just want to replace them with same without going to the dealer. What do you recommend on companies, type of pads, etc. Also, can you point me to a "How To" for a DIY replacement?
Thanks.

The Brembos have caliper pins which make pad replacement a breeze, and much quicker than the basic brakes.
PS. if the rotors have ANY grooving, then they must be turned or replaced. Don't put new pads on used grooved rotors, it's a waste of time & money.
ebc makes several different compostionss of ceramic pads. My favorite for street and occasional track days are the ebc redstuff pads. I have installed them on numerous classic ( e types, Triumphs, Shelby's, Cobras, etc) and more modern cars as well, incl. my '02 XKR.
. No squealing, low dust, excellent performance cold or hot, and they are easy on the rotors.
for the Brembo's no I don't. I'm sure you can find something on U-tube.
all you have to do to change pads on them is pull the tire / wheel. The pads come out without having to remove the caliper like you have to do with the std. brakes.
