Lightbulb Changing Oil cooler hoses...a word to the wise

So, a while back one of my oil cooler hoses burst on the AZ highway @80mph, and left just about all my oil in the road behind me. I probably had her off the road within 10 seconds of hearing the warning chime and seeing "No oil pressure" warning on the dash. No real harm done I think, but I was very lucky.

Anyway...should this travesty visit you ( which I sincerely hope it does NOT ), a word to the wise: BEFORE you order the oil cooler lines, visually inspect the lines themselves, ESPECIALLY the front side connections, and take note of their appearance before you go order the new hoses.
A previous owner had apparently opted to install an AFTERMARKET oil cooler in place of the OEM Jag cooler, who's connectors at the cooler itself were not even remotely like the JAG connectors. Luckily I found a good shop that could replace the bad fitting(s) on the right side front hose, for less than $50.00. But, this is after having ordered 4 hoses at @$120-130 each, and ending up having 2 hoses that I can't use.

I know...it seems like common sense, right?

Just wanted to share this, so the next guy or gal doesn't make the same mistake I made. Carry on Lads! And lassies!
