Usually the jag doc list all the possible items. Might be worth a look (start with the codes info).

Had a look, isn't really clear whether I should replace the cannister or the purge valve.... anyone else had this code?

Do you want to diagnose the fault or replace the part(s)??
What car are you working on??

EVAPP to ECM drive circuit: open circuit or high resistance

Could be a wire or connector?? Could be the valve itself??

I would diagnose before replacing parts.

motorcar man... I want to diagnose the problem. Reading other threads i thought the solution was to replace the purge valve. I was looking for some expert opinions. I am driving a 98 XK8

Flipr78,

Bob (motorcarman) should not have to ask about your vehicle.

There's a reason we ask all members to add vehicle details to their forum signatures. Possible causes, troubleshooting processes and solutions are often Model and Year dependent.

I've added the details to your first post in this thread. Please edit your forum signature so this information appears automatically with all subsequent posts.

My 97 XK8 threw the same code and a new purge valve solved the issue.

GGG

thanks for no help, rather a rude and disparaging comment. Perhaps rather than chastising new members you could provide direction as to how to edit my signature.

I don't think Graham meant to be unpleasant, but his remarks could have been interpreted that way. In case you haven't found the method yet, open the User CP in the left side of the black bar near the top of the page.
