Default Convert top

Hi all.Last winter the top would not close, so I did a manual close and jumpered the relays to close the rear windows. This year, the top would not open. I did some reading and found a mustang post that suggested removing and reinserting the convertible top relay. I did this and the top opened as designed.
I thought it would be a good idea to install "Rev Sam" (sam1174) switch to control the rear windows from his video in 2011. I disassembled the armrest looking for a green/black on pin 11 and green/purple on pin 15. I found a green/black on pin 17 but I can't find the green/purple. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I thought this was a feature on the cars already.

Nicely done, except that the roof button does the same and I'll explain.
1. Long press the roof button up or down with the engine running it raises and lowers the roof and rear windows.
2. Tap the roof button in either direction and it ONLY raises or lowers the rear windows and the roof doesn't move.

Actually, in the video Rev. Sam specified the green/BLUE wire, not green/purple. You can see the green/blue one to the right of your red circle.

Sam added an addendum in the comments. So I'm confused>
@sam1174
@piehandseddie I just looked at the manual. It looks like the wires are in the same location, however they are different colors on the 1997. The wires you are looking for are green/black and green/purple. They are on pins 11 and 15 (on the 2003 they are on pins 16 and 17). So, it's the same connector, but you're looking for the green/black wire on pin 11 and the green/purple wire on pin 15.

Thanks.
I read this and it seems more complicated work than I can do.

“A man’s got to know his limits”.
I find this Hollywood quote is very useful to avoid projects beyond my knowledge or skill set.

But how do you find the limit and how do you expand your skill sets?
Since OP is savvy enough to locate and tap into the connectors under the center console, he very likely has the skills needed to wire up the relay and the pulse timer for the autodown feature. I speak from my experience; I only had a little electrical skill when I tackled this, but the instructions are easy to follow and everything is relatively accessible compared to what we usually have to deal with when doing mods or repairs.
I'd say go for it!

hey. that is not fully correct.
tapping the roof button only lowers and ups the rear windows when the roof is closed, as it is one of the last/first steps in the roof closing/opening sequence.
if the top is down. you cant tap the button to only up the rear window. Top down: only front windows up

So I tried tapping the green/black and green/blue wires. No luck. Maybe the taps are junk. Too hot outside so tomorrow I will try to ascertain if there is power at the taps.

I have power to the green/black wire but no power to the green/blue wire. Maybe my wiring is an anomaly for an early '97.
