Default Coolant Pressure Testing

Hi All,
I have a very small coolant leak but cannot find where it is coming from, I borrowed a pressure tester and purchased the correct adaptor but the system will not pressure up no matter how much I pump. I tried it on another vehicle and it works fine. Am I Missing something here?

Regards,
Karl

I would question the 'correct adapter' first. It has to seal the overflow.

I bought this one from Harbor Freight, it's the green adapter. You must have the wrong adapter for yours.

Just crimp off the overflow with vise grips etc... You dont need another tool

Jeff - Just to confirm - that green adapter works with the XK8? I only ask because the owner's manual they have online for that one says the green adapter is for GM... if it works for the xk8 then I will definitely pick it up

I have 'rented' pressure testers from a couple AP stores and neither had one to fit the Jaguar. Neither sealed the system from the overflow orifice in the neck of the pressure cap. Ended up using the 'universal' on both and that worked.

I went out to the garage to check, yes the green one. I see the confusion, the manual says #17 Green = GM. However the green one is marked #21 which isn't even in the manual. Good thing I don't read manuals, I write them.
