Default Coolant warning Light - RESOLVED

Hi

Every time I turn the engine on my Coolant red warning light comes on immediately and does not go out.

I have checked the level and all good. Cleaned out the resevoir and sensor seems ok. However the light stays on, would appreciate your advice.

Cheers Joseph

I had that problem, or a similar one. The red light would come on and the temp gauge needle never moved from the bottom. I read the code and it was a P1646 (I think), about the
ECT circuit open, or something like that. Anyway, I reset the code, the light went out and the gauge started working again. No problem since. I'm not sure what happened, but this
happened just after I had put the ODBII reader on it to check something else.

P1646 would be a failed O2 sensor.

On the warning light it's likely a bad sensor, bad connection, chafed wiring...

The float in the reservoir can get stuck or sink. The sensor can fall out the bottom and trigger the warning.

No, it was a P0116.

Thank you everyone for your input, much appreciated. At the end of the day I found that it was a poor sensor connection at the bottom of the overflow resevoir. Such a simple fix. All OK now.

Thanks again

Cheers a Happy Chappy now.
