Unhappy Corrupted file in immobiliser next step

2002 xk8 convertible is giving me the blues i got the car 6 months ago from lady that i work with the sounder was on and the blinking light of death was flashing by shifter.
i found a place in the Uk called remote keys and sent them the immobiliser they claimed they could unlock or put the ktm in a open run position but after communicating with them back and forth a few times they told me it had a corrupted file and they could not rewrite eprom so at this point im lost and need to know what should i do next.

4.0 or 4.2?

if they broke the ktm just get another one run immo setup with IDS and add your old keys back in.

MAKE,MODEL,YEAR is important.
NO VID block in the 4.0. (I wish you told us that in the first place)

yes

what were you trying to do by removing the immo? alarm and ktm functions are completely separate except for the glass break sensor

The 2002MY in Europe is 4.2.
You do not provide a location.

"i found a place in the Uk called remote keys and sent them the immobiliser"

I assumed you were in the UK.

What was the original problem? No key? Key turns but won't start? Security system is not the immobilizer. Key in driver's door lock can shut off security system.

Sounds like "Remote Keys" is not familiar with Jaguar immobilizer system; the Key Transponder Module is just part of it.. "Corrupted file" is probably an excuse for not knowing what they're doing. I hope you get your KTM back and it isn't junk now.

The problem was intermittin some days it would do fine and start some days the alarm would come on and not turn off for at least 45 minutes to an hour and got to the point it would come on while driving down the road and nothing would work headlights turn signals nothing. The light by shifter would flash non stop the remotes stopped working all of that its driving me crazy. I just got the ktm back havent tried it yet i hope its not junk now but if it is what's next ? Remote Keys claimed they could put it in an open run and by pass the immobiliser altogether which is why the car won't start anymore.

thinkdiag can program keys into the ktm but it can’t do security pairing from ecm to ktm you need an ids for that

is this a no crank no start or a crank no start. either way it’s easy to fix

If the security system was 'triggered', you can access LAST ALARM ACTIVATION in the WDS or IDS CONFIG TAB.

It will tell you WHAT triggered the alarm. (door switch, boot lid switch, key immobilizer, etc.)

I think you're looking in the wrong direction, making things worse. The immobilizer system allows starting if the key code works or prevents starting if code is bad, no bells, whistles, alarms or blinking lights. .

If it started, then what you have is an antitheft problem.

Someone else chime in if this is correct or I've misspoken.

Let's pray your KTM still starts the engine.

It's a no crank no start and the light is blinking non stop. It was raining yesterday so today im going to put the ktm back in the car and make sure it has plenty of charge.
i really want to say i made a mistake by sending off the ktm in the first place i need to get IDS or WDS asap so i can know what is actually going with the car i bought a i car soft thinking it was going to help but was not.

i agree im going to stop until i can get the equipment to read the car. It hasn't started in 6 months the key fobs dont work and unlocking the car with the key does not disarm the alarm. Maybe a low voltage issue im not sure

get a thinkdiag it’s like 85 bucks it can read all modules

a no crank no start with a p1260 stored is going to be a bad or non programmed chip in the key. you can can add keys with it too

At this point, I have to think you need to reinstall the KTM and put the charger on the battery for a while and see if it starts. That's more important than sorting out the security issue.

Have you tried removing the key, reinserting and turning it to forward two clicks to run? That's the protocol for disarming the security.

The SLCM is in the trunk behind the battery, under the fuses. That may be where your SECURITY problem is located..
