All was accurate for my 06 XKR, BUT, Pos + battery cable disconnected in trunk, and I can NOT GET INTO Trunk/Boot...HELP!!!

If your battery is not connected the key method thru the rear XK8 badge should still work as it is manual not electric. You may have to liberally lubricate the key hole if it is frozen from disuse.

If none of the above works, see this video
from John at To The Garage. Be aware the extreme work-arounds shown (they start about 6:30) are difficult and the last resort method shown at the end will be expensive as it requires destroying your taillight.

Even if the +ve battery terminal is disconnected in the boot, surely connecting a spare battery to the +ve terminal next to the engine bay fuse box will still enable you to open the boot as the spare battery simply replaces the boot battery? Obviously, you can't charge the boot battery (or start the car) but that's not important.

Folks, NEVER set your keys down inside your trunk. Just put them back in your pocket or set them down on the ground when you are working in your trunk. A little common sense goes a long way....

I'm not sure that is what trottier has actually done.
