So my seats are starting to look pretty rough and I would like to get replacement seat covers. I would rather go with Vinyl than leather, mainly for durability. Everywhere I have seen online only offers leather though.

Has anyone used vinyl? What were the results and where can I find them.

You might want to try leather repair like Magic Mender. Works darn well even on really rough / big tears. Cost about $40 for a kit, perfect color matching.

The seats are torn in several places, I really just want to replace them.

The car gets caught in the rain without a top a few times a year and that does not do the leather well. I had a previous convertible with vinyl seats and they held up to rain a lot better.

Try lseat.com. They make inexpensive leather seat covers ($349), but also offer a vinyl on their website. Might have to contact them for that option. I bought the leather versions for another car, and bought matching vinyl from them to do my door cards.

If you just want pull over type seat covers, try Iggee.com

I have used vinyl as a cloth replacement in the past and that resulted in probably the best seats i have had.

I personally wouldn't shy away from vinyl.

I love vinyl too, but here in the extreme heat of the Middle East, I find plastic seats give me a sweaty bottom. I often pull up to a service station to go to the toilet to wipe dry the butt cheeks and the crack.

Laughed out loud. Assembled throng asked what I was laughing about, response divided by sex lines.

yes, John Skinner Mfg. Ltd. in the Uk.

they are going to do my XJ-6 seat covers in vinyl. I've had it with leather. I have a friend with a 1967 Jaguar 340 (MK-2) that came from the factory with vinyl seat covers and they are like new with a nice age patina.

John Skinner's trim shop is world class, they have a great reputation for quality work.

they will also sell you the covers in vinyl and you install them.
