Steering wheel set fully up and retracted before disconnecting the battery (don't ask how I know!).

Also watch out for the rear end of the LH runner as you lift the seat out. It comes very close to the bodywork.

Thanks for that Graham

I'll try to wrap the runners in sponge or something soft !

Hopefully the seat won't be too heavy to manoeuvre carefully , I'm on my own in the workshop tomorrow

All the very best ,

Nik

For a coupe the best way I've found is to lay the headrest on the console and bring it out bottom first. The seat is pretty heavy, certainly more than I was expecting the first time.

I would advise leaving the battery connected until after the seat is unbolted so you can center the track.

The guy I use ( Steve ,Elite Restoration here in Beverley) is a genius with leather so if the leather won't refurbish his trimmer will replace whichever panels are necessary , popped in to see him yesterday and he's just finished a set of Range Rover Sport seats , they look amazing , I'll see if I can get a photo ,

All the best ,

Nik

Here's a video on how to remove the seat. Coincidentally it's a right hand drive car and it's the passenger seat being removed.

If I were to make any more videos I would talk with a haughty British accent because it makes the video seem so much more professional.

LOL Sam, yeah over in the UK, the passenger always has the steering wheel and handbrake to play with.

(PS, I prefer your real time commentaries to this type of narrative, hope you do eventually make some more vids, maybe with a future XKR-S) Good to see you.

All sorted guy's , thanks for your helpful tips

It took about ten minutes , five of those trying to find out how the outer rail trim came off
Left the battery connected
Now it's off to Steve at Elite Restorations in the morning to work his magic , I will hopefully be able to get a step by step with photo's on the refurbishment for the magazine , it may want a panel or two replacing but we'll see what he recommends and take it from there , not a problem either way as his workshop is a mile away from my home so I can pop in to check progress ,

Strangely , the seat doesn't look to bad once removed but needs to be perfect ,

All the best ,

Nik

I prefer some down to earth expletives int he commentary, I doubt this guy could muster anything stronger than "gosh".
Good video though, someone posted his ad for selling the car recently.

Nik it would be good to have some step by step photo stuff, especially from Elite.

(maybe also grab a few of any classics they have in)

Hi Rev ,
Good video , do you know where to find the renovation video by this guy out of interest ???????

Mine didn't have much money beneath it , 17p to be exact ,

My side trim was held on by a spring clip otherwise a very similar job ,
my seat is nothing like the condition of his , thank the lord !!!!!!

All the best ,

Nik
