I have a 2005 XKR coupe that had 53K miles on it when I bought it about a year & a half ago from a private party in SoCal. I wanted to have daytime running lights but didn't wan't to mess with re-wiring. It turns out that, b/c DRLs were mandatory in Canada, any Jaguar dealer can re-program your lights. After re-programming, you just leave your headlight selector on "Auto" and DRLs will activate during the day. It cost me $100 at Jaguar San José -- others have been able to get it done for free.
I didn't see the msg about PrettyBlueFin's death before posting the info on DRLs. Hopefully, it will be of use to someone else on the Forum. Very sorry to hear of her passing. :-(

Ray,
I've moved your posts to a new thread. Useful information but needed to be in a different place.

Ray,
Over the past couple of weeks, I have seen more Green XK's on the Forum than any other Color.....A couple including yours are this Beautiful Metallic Green and another that was so Dark Green it looked Black.....I just wanted you to know that you have a great looking XKR....
I looked into the DRL's set-up like yours but decided to go another route by using Phillips DRL's instead. My XKR is also a 2005 and has the new Front Nose Piece with the little grill down on the bottom...Nothing was going on down there, so I put the little LED fixtures down there. They turn on and off automatically when I hit the "Clicker". They burn on bright during the day and dim when the Lights come on at Night. When I shut her down at Night, they stay on for about a minute and let me get in the House before shutting down....All this is automatic....all I do is hit the "Clicker"! It also gives that bottom grill something to do! They are automatic! No switches.....
